@ earthfatking  I think air force for its starfighters could like the variable fighter or the mobile suits from Gundam considering that the void marauders, have bipedal fighters the federation could make something similar

@Shadowlord_45 Nah, that would be for the Federations enemies, the branches in the Federation would be friendly rivalry rather than envy and hatred between each other.

@Shadowlord_45 While I wouldn't mind the Marines being their own branch (much the USMC), the Marines being like the Panzergrenadiers of the LOGH Galactic Empire would work just fine, and much like the Panzergrenadiers the Federation could have power armor when fighting but they would more the mijolnir armor from Halo with better shields, better armor and less bulky, and said armor can be used by both the Marines and the Army (because it would be stupid if the Federation didn't give said armor to it's Defence Forces), of course while the Defence Forces have power-armor they would also being using phasers (a point that I will keep repeating in this story like a broken record) and as you know Phasers be it ground phasers or starship phasers are BULLSHIT OverPowered!!!! So everytime a panzergrenadier show up they get shot down by Federation phasers without them getting close (granted I don't see the panzergrenadiers boarding Fed ships because the shields are so powerfull and the boarding will be shot down by the pin-point accuracy that Starfleet ships have). Also I don't see the Federation using the same close-quarter combat that are used by LOGH characters given that if the Fed Defence Forces ever use CQC it means the same thing that it does in IRL, it means that something has gone very VERY wrong. The only it may happen it would be against the Imperium from Dune, other than that evrybody else get a phaser to the face (even if they are set to stun)
            
            Also I don't think the Federation should have an Air Force given the fact that it doesn't need one given the fact that Starfleet ships can One-Shot starfighters with pin-point accuracy, same thing with carriers, there's a reason why Star Trek never had any, they aren't needed and the only time starfighters show up it's because the writers said so and the Rule of Cool, shuttles do a good job already.
            So yeah I think an  Starfighter Corps, Air Force and Carriers aren't needed at all.

            After reading a couple of fanfics, I feel so bad for the Androids and want them to get saved from a seemingly endless war with the machines
            
            Weird position for the Federation since if they do make contact with Nier automata Earth, They are gonna have a bunch of Androids who are fanatically loyal to them
            
            Wonder how they are gonna deal with that
