For these past couple of weeks in Hawaiʻi, Native Hawaiians and locals have peacefully stood against and halted the construction of a thirty meter telescope (TMT) that is due to be built on a sacred mountain known as Mauna Kea. This has been an ongoing issue for years. Many oppose it’s development due to the desecration of the mountain (dozens of telescopes have already been built). I wish I could fly home and stand with those protecting the land, but for now I’m going to do my part on the other side and spread awareness. If you have the time, please read up on this issue and spread the word.
