Disheartened
Lately, I’ve seen some people saying that "The Thakurain | 18+" only focuses on desire — and honestly, it hurts a little to see it being misinterpreted like that.
Before judging, please remember the era this story is set in. The times were different, the people were different, and so were their ways of expressing love. Back then, marriages were built on duty, power, and yes — pleasure. It wasn’t uncommon, it was their reality.
Through this story, I’ve tried my best to show that reality — not glorify it. Because even in a world where desire was the base of a bond, two people can still find something deeper. They can connect through silences, through understanding, through the ache of wanting to be seen for who they truly are.
So please, don’t reduce it to just desire. Look a little closer, and you’ll find that beneath it all, it’s about the longing for companionship, the quiet kind of love that grows even when words are few.
I know not everyone will see it the same way, and that’s okay. ❤️
But as the writer, it does sting when the emotions and depth I poured into this story are dismissed so easily. Still, I trust that those who truly read between the lines will understand what I wanted to convey.
At the end of the day, it’s your choice to continue or not — but I just wanted to share my heart behind the words. All I ask is that you read with empathy, not just for the characters… but maybe for the writer too.
