a smile appeared on his own face as magnus leaned into the touch  ,  tail thumping happily against his leg. he trusted his partner with his life  —  with knowing if someone was trustworthy or not. her accepting the other made the handler finally completely relax around alex. "yes. she's very intelligent. observant of people ... knows when they're good or bad. this is a good thing." his smile was wider as he directed the scripture towards the other again.

            eyes followed as the other pulled a pen from their pocket , if he had one on him— alex would’ve offered instead but it was good to see helio had came prepared instead .  “ like i said before  ,  anytime .  and i’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for dogs if i’m honest..  never got one as a kid but always begged for it .  ” a huff of amusement slipped back him , eventually he’d extend a hand to lightly brush against the dog’s head— smiling as he did so .  “ think she really does like me..  guess i’m a good judge character then  ,  huh ?  ”

he paused the petting to grab hold of the pad  ,  untucking a pen from his pocket. he mindlessly hummed a few notes as he wrote down what he wanted to say  —  hand writing neat from years of writing his thoughts. "thank you  ,  again. she's a good judge of character so she's nice if you deserve it. she likes you .. you can pet her if you want to." once he was done he proof read it all before facing it towards alex  ,  face now slightly concealed behind the notebook.

"no different." his approach would be about the same with anyone  —  if not a touch easier due to the others acceptance of his speech. helio looked around a touch  ,  taking in what he could. "what now?" he questioned. agreeing to come along hadn't been of much issue but well  —  he didn't get much from the briefing.

            farah’s forces , the ULF— needed as many ally’s at it could muster .  alex was their combat lieutenant , had to make sure those connections remained strong .  for everyone’s sake .  “ anytime .  and i know trust can be difficult but that’ll change eventually .  you can start with me if that makes things easier .  ”

helio frowned a bit at the seemingly endless softness the other seemed to portray. not out of displeasure  ,  but questioning. "mm ... thank you." he muttered quietly  ,  a mix of confusion and timidness. "trust difficult." he continued with a hint of a smile.
