Easy to answer; strong fundamentals. Read 'How to write a novel/screenplay/<genre> stories' books, read interviews with famous writers, study stories you like, learn about structure, plot, character, character development, theme, all the technical aspects and make sure to use them. Also; think outside the box. Make sure your story is special/unusual/intriguing/that it stands out from the crowd, and make it clear why it does in your book blurb. (If you don't think your story is special, don't expect anyone else to, and it's probably not worth writing it). DO NOT (I cannot stress this enough) ask people on Wattpad to read it, or leave comments on other people's stories asking their readers to read your story. Too many people do this, so you are joining the crowd, not standing out from it. It's natural to want to advertise, but a good book blurb is the only way that works. A good cover design can help, but blurb is what makes people start reading, and strong fundamentals (= a good story) is why they keep reading. Similarly, when you comment on other people's work, make your comments stand out from crowd too; don't just say "I loved it!" Be specific/intelligent/insightful. Interesting comments will make people who read them interested in you, and then interested in reading your work. Do all of the above, then be patient, and readers will come.

Hi,@kdnorwich1 Thank you for replying to my message I really enjoyed the first three chapters of your story! I wanted to ask how you’ve managed to get so many reads. I’ve just started my own book and I’m still in the early stages. Any advice would be really helpful!
