Sorry, I just remembered the actual Dragon Vein conversation is actually between the War Horse party back in Morrison. Jayda is expanding the origins of the Dark Elves for Astra, and explaining it to Mia and Frey as they were out of it from ranking up a tier. All of this takes place in chapter 17.

Basically yes, just substitute Magic for power/energy. When Astra asked how the dungeon died. Jayda's response was It lost contact with the Dragon Vein, lost its source of magic, it goes into more detail but this initial part is all that's necessary to make the connection. Go back and read that section again as it's the clearest description we have to date.

Hm, the mention of dragon vein has been done in a few places and yes also the need for one for a dungeon to function. But what it actually is, is never really explained. Is it a sort of source for power/energy?

Okay, I'm just going to assume you've read all 18 chapters. Dragon veins are only mentioned in passing a few times in the story, up to and including where you asked this.  Hence my hesitation to answer since it's not until later that we learn more than the name. We get some very subtle hints that they are tied in some ways to monsters. We are only finally given some better information about them when they go to the Dark Elves new settlement and they bring up they as a race originated in a dungeon. Subsequently it comes out that the dungeon they originated in lost its dragon vein, which is the magic source necessary for a dungeon's existence. Monster nests also require them it seems. I'll leave it at that let you back and reread that part.

Ohhh. This I really need to try to make!
            Do you think I could use homemade marshmallows?
            Although really bad timing. One of my new year goals is to eat a lot less sugar/candy/cookies 
            You might need to wait until I have given up trying to not eat sugary things (my hot chocolate with mint is an exception ).

Hope you enjoy Seeing Eye Wolf.  I was so tired of the stereo typical disabled wolf thing.  They tend to ignore the disability after mentioning it.  They treat the person as normal yet they are supposed to be disabled.  Well that and I had to snicker at the idea of a wolf being a Seeing Eye Dog.
