I'm a senior at Swartz Creek High School. I'm 17 years old and was born in July of 1998. My parents were teenagers when they had me and things were sometimes difficult. Years of hard work from both of my parents have finally paid off. My dad owns his own business and my mom is a 2014 graduate of the University of Michigan Flint with a degree in secondary education. Growing up my dad wrote a lot and was in several bands where he wrote his own lyrics. This inspired me to write things of my own. When I was 8 years old I lost someone I was very close to and that loss affected the way I wrote and what I wrote for many years. In the coming years after this tragic loss,  I took to reading. I have read several books that cover several different genres. What I like to read the most are poetry books by my favorite poet, Sylvia Plath. For many years now I have relied on a pen and a piece of paper to unload every emotion I feel. There isn't anyone or anything that I will ever trust more than I trust my notebooks.
