I spoke with the author about a year ago, maybe more. She ends the book with Elizabeth going with Jack and Angelina to NYC. Jack puts her through design school. Austin basically was drugged and his terrible mother set it up so that Elizabeth would disappear because she wasn't the right class. It's a tough ending because Elizabeth went through a lot and Austin really loved her. (I tried to convince the author to maybe have her lose the baby but not need a hysterectomy but she didn't cave) . In bittersweet redemption, what will eventually very very slowly be the sequel, we find out Elizabeth tried to see Austin on more than one occasion to hear from him his side of those photos, and explain what happened. She was depressed, lonely, grieving and wondered why she kept seeing him partying in the tabloids without a care. His mom kept her away from him, and lied to him about what happened to the baby, and he spiraled but eventually cleans up his act, around the same time Elizabeth becomes a popular wedding dress designer. Elizabeth tries to move on but turns out Austin is set to marry someone from the right class, of course set up by mommy dearest and the new fiance just has to have one of Elizabeth's gowns. In the middle of all this Elizabeth's dad dies and both Austin and Elizabeth are summoned by Dad's lawyer about the will. She didn't go into too much detail from this part, but basically explained they inherit the farm together and kind of forced proximity have to get it into shape to sell or decide to stay there. In the process they take in a now teenager of the little girl that Austin always spoke to (forget her name) and the babies she can't take care of, she became a teenage mom and her mom and dad died. In it all, they slowly unveil the truth about everything that happened and find their way back to each other while raising the girl and her helping raise her babies. First book has a really depressing ending but the second has a happy ending.
