I'm passionate about literature and confess to an almost lifelong love affair with poetry. I was raised in a family that loved music, literature, compassion, humour and the spiritual. And it was a family that acknowledged and lived the copious complexities of family dynamics. My entire childhood took place in the cauldron of the raw Saskatchewan prairies. 

Add to that particular childhood, the vocation of motherhood and various careers as teacher, social worker, private counsellor and website designer, and the fodder for my writing becomes evident. To be even more specific, I perceive writing as the energetic combination of attention, imagination, eccentricity, music, perception and solitude.

Along with writing, my passions include photography, ancient history, the soul and family life. I love seclusion and thrive in an environment of music, Venetian glass and windows to gardens and historic stone buildings in Guelph and to nature's cathedrals on the northern shores of Lake Huron. I happen to be Canadian with roots in England and France and a heart in Italy.
