i saw a post saying “stop posting the su*cide hotline number, everyone knows it.”
that is beside the point. anytime i post that number, it’s for awareness. it isn’t something to take lightly.
the phone number is like a backbone of support whenever you need. someone is always there 24/7 when others cannot be.
no, it isn’t the same as talking to a trusted friend/family member, but if it keeps you here, i am all for it.
for me, i guess you could say it kept me here. i was back and forth, contemplating ending my life.
i didn’t want to tell my family, I didn’t want them to worry. i didn’t want to tell my friends, i didn’t want to be embarrassed.
i called the number. i was nervous, but i poured my little heart out. nobody knew but it saved me that night & pushed me to reach out and tell someone i loved.
i still struggle. to this damn day. but it sure as hell gets a whole lot easier.
I promise.
remember to tell everyone you love them; live your days like they’re your last.
