Hello, my lovely readers!
This isn’t a chapter update just yet (but a big one is coming very soon so keep an eye out ✨). I wanted to share a small system I’m adding to help me stay organized with my R4R exchanges.
Lately I’ve taken on many more R4Rs, and while I genuinely want to uphold my side of every agreement, I’ve noticed that some authors don’t return the exchange, even though they continue posting and interacting on Wattpad/Reddit/Etc.
This isn’t directed at anyone who is on hiatus, busy, or dealing with life. Life happens, and I understand that fully. This is simply for authors who remain active but do not continue our R4R after the first few chapters.
To keep things fair and manageable, I’m using three lists:
✨ Active R4R List:
For authors currently reading and engaging with my story.
✨ Completed R4R List:
For exchanges where both sides have fulfilled their parts.
✨ “R4R Purgatory” List:
If an author is active but hasn’t returned to my story after three weeks, their book moves here.
The intention is not to punish, but as a gentle reminder and a way to stay organized.
If they come back, comment, vote, or continue reading, I immediately move their book back to the active list.
If several more weeks pass with no interaction, I’ll quietly consider the exchange closed so I can focus on genuine, ongoing reads.
As a single mom balancing writing, updates, and reading, I need to prioritize the people who support me as much as I support them. Thank you so much for understanding — and for all the love you’ve shown my story. It truly means the world to me.
