⸻ hi my loves!!
i know i’ve been a little quiet on socials these past few days—just taking a little time to rest and reset, but i’ve missed you all so much. i hope you had a lovely weekend and that mother’s day was kind to you, whether you were celebrating, remembering, or just holding space for whatever it brought up. sending love in every direction.
while i’ve been away, a story idea’s been living in my head rent free. i’ve been thinking about writing a girl x girl fic set in the 50s or 60s, when queerness was still deeply misunderstood and not widely accepted. something soft but aching, full of tension and quiet rebellion, the kind of love that hides in glances and late-night conversations. i really want it to center that kind of yearning, but also the beauty of choosing each other anyway.
the question now is: should i make it an original story, or base it in a fandom?
some people suggested harry potter, specifically during tom riddle’s timeline, which i think is such a rich setting to explore. i love that world so much, and placing this kind of story in a darker era of the wizarding world feels really fitting.
others suggested riverdale, but as an au! meaning i’d have total freedom over the story elements. and honestly? the thought of rewriting choni’s story makes my heart swell. i haven’t watched season 7 yet, but i know it takes place in that same 50s vibe, and it feels like the perfect opportunity to give them the care and clarity they never really got. i’d love to take my time and write them in the way they truly deserved to be seen.
so i wanted to ask, what do you think? are you leaning one way more than the other? do you see more potential in one idea over the other? i’d love to hear your thoughts in the replies.
thank you so much for always being here, even when i’m a little quiet. you make this space feel so safe and warm, and i’m so grateful for every one of you.
