time passes , seconds , minutes , some point it turns to hours ... there 's a downcast of their expression as they stare at the clock on their phone once more . it was late now ... and they had to swallow their disappointment and upset feelings . he wasn 't coming ... 'zuku ... did their 'zuku stand them up .ᐣ they held back their tears , biting their cheek ... this was stupid to cry over .
⠀⠀⠀⠀the soul lifted themselves up , getting ready to stand up when they heard a noise . startled , they turned around , terrified a villain had come for them ... but the sight they found instead was ... even worse .
❝ 'zuk— ❞ ⠀⠀⠀their sentence was stopped mid way when they saw the state he 's in , the way he 's clearly injured had mayumi frantic already . ⠀⠀⠀❝ izuku .ᐟ .ᐣ ❞ ⠀⠀⠀it takes no longer for them to stand fully and rush over to him , they had fallen at his feet as they look up at him . immediately they latched onto him , hoping to hold him up in his state from their knelt down position .

would rody approve or disapprove of them going out to meet him .ᐣ they didn 't know ... but mayumi knew they 'd never forgive themselves if they didn 't at least go , ploy or not .. fake or not . they could very well be walking into trouble ... but when did mayumi soul ever care about that .ᐣ
⠀⠀⠀so , slinging their jacket on over their shoulders , they gave a small⠀⠀⠀❛ i 'm going out .ᐟ ❜⠀⠀⠀before basically letting the door shut behind them .
their heart was heavy , throat closing up around them as they glanced at the clock on their phone ... they had left earlier than the time given to them on the note ... but for someone who was usually late , wasn 't this better .ᐣ their steps were heavy on the pavement , sky dark around them , musutafu was nothing like it was the first time they had visited . it was so dark and dismal ... it almost made mayumi wince .
⠀⠀⠀⠀mayumi 's eyes looked up when they stopped in their step , noting it was the place they were set to meet at . their breath hitched , this was it . hey gazed at the ladders height and gave a small hum to themselves as they assessed it before they backed up again . they soon turned sprint towards the wall opposite of the buildings ladder , taking one final step up the wall with one leg and springing up from there . their frenzied momentum translated into a vertical jump as they grabbed ahold of the side rail and soon pulled themselves up to stand on one of the steps fully . yumi soon continued stepping up the ladder , grabbing onto the ledge of the building and pulling themselves up to the rooftop fully .
a quiet sigh of relief , looking behind their shoulder before they took a few steps forward on the rooftop .⠀⠀⠀⠀❝ c 'mon 'zuku ... ❞⠀⠀⠀⠀whispered under their breath when they settled themselves down on the edge of the rooftop , their legs dangling over the edge . flint hues gazed over the sky casted out , the sun was setting , orange and yellowy hues painting the sky .

it had been a few nights since mayumi soul found themselves waking up alone once more , the night where they had managed to convince izuku to take a night off from running to rest . to come back to them , even if just for one night . and one night he gave them , but it still seemed to hurt when they woke alone , noting that their hand hadn 't been holding on to the fabric of his clothes like it was when they fell asleep .
⠀⠀⠀perhaps they would believe it was all one big dream , considering even rody had no idea why they woke up in such a frenzy upon noticing that their 'zuku had left again . the only thing that seemed to prove he ever was there was the note left on their apartments table . a date , time and place .. they would see him again . that was enough to put the soul 's franticness at rest .
they couldn 't let the days go by fast enough , basically rocking back and fourth on their heels as they waited to see him again . it was like torture , never knowing if he was okay , never knowing if he was still alive and active out there ... there was only so much you could tune into the news before you begun to grow paranoid even further than you were before hand .
and then , finally , it came . the small bit of hope soul held onto would finally prove itself useful , right .ᐣ all the time that rody would tell them to let go , that they have to let /him/ go .⠀⠀⠀❛ mayu , you can 't keep getting yourself worked up over him , it 's not doing you any good ... ❜⠀⠀╱⠀⠀⠀❛ he 'll come back in his own time , mayu , you can 't wait forever for him— ❜⠀⠀. but they wouldn 't , they couldn 't , so what was their response .ᐣ⠀⠀⠀❝ no , no i need him to come back now . i 'll wait , as long as it takes , i told him not to go where i can 't follow .ᐟ ❞
