AU OVERVIEW.⠀this AU is one in which kakyoin does not die by DIO's hand in egypt  ,   &   instead survives    —    undertaking therapy   &   rehabilitation in the years that follow.   in 1999  ,   after being requested  ,   he travels to morioh   &   joins jotaro   &   the morioh gang in the adventures which take place in part four of jjba  ,   DIAMOND IS UNBREAKABLE.

AU DETAILS (BACKSTORY).⠀in contrast to the initial plotline of STARDUST CRUSADERS  ,   on january 16th  ,   1987  ,   after being struck by   [  THE WORLD  ]  ,   kakyoin did not die    —    instead  ,   he teetered on the edge of life   &   death.   due to DIO's pursue of joseph  ,   causing them to abandon the area  ,   which allowed a medical team to respond to kakyoin.   they attempted to stabilize him in cairo  ,   &   against all odds  ,   it was successful    —    &   before his physical state could deteriorate any further  ,   the SPEEDWAGON FOUNDATION took over   ;    airlifting kakyoin to their location in NEW YORK CITY  ,   since it was their closest option    (    &   frankly  ,   kakyoin didn't have long.    )    his surgery was an emergency procedure  ,   &   though the chances of survival were slim  ,   they had no choice but to try    —    this young man's life was in peril.

AU DETAILS (POST SURGERY  ++  RECOVERY).⠀after being in surgery for nearly 24 hours  ,   kakyoin emerged with transplanted organs   &   temporary spine implants which would be replaced at a later date    (    once kakyoin was more stable.    )    during the surgery  ,   he had to be revitalized multiple times  ,   &   once out of surgery  ,   it took a year   &   some additional months  ,   for kakyoin to come to.   he had been deduced to a comatose state  ,   &   during the time of that period  ,   he was constantly monitored by the SPEEDWAGON FOUNDATION.   however  ,   once the teen did come to  ,   action didn't hesitate to be taken.

AU DETAILS (POST SURGERY  ++  RECOVERY).⠀(contin.)   his vitals were checked  ,   &   both friends   &   family in japan were alerted  ,   &   the news was a relief to many.   after another week under the care of the SPEEDWAGON FOUNDATION's new york city medial team  ,   kakyoin was transported back to japan  ,   &   checked in the company's TOKYO location.   it was here where the implants were removed   &   replaced with a metal prosthetic  ,   which was added to his broken spine.   weeks past  ,   &   finally  ,   kakyoin was deemed fit for visits by friends   &   family.   shortly after visitors were allowed to accompany him  ,   kakyoin was informed that physical therapy would be definite once he was healed  ,   due to the effect his injured spine could have on his ability to walk   &   perform daily tasks.

WELCOME TO MORIOH (DIU).⠀it was now 1999  ,   nearly eleven years after kakyoin's near  -  fatal incident.   ever since his physical therapy ceased  ,   he began to live his life    (    trying to do so the best he could  ,   despite the complications.    )    now  ,   being the age of 27  ,   noriaki kakyoin is a part  -  time archeologist who operates closely with the SPEEDWAGON FOUNDATION.   (    shortly after the initial bow   &   arrow return to their posession  ,    )    kakyoin is informed   &   called in by the foundation to venture to MORIOH    —    providing assistance  ,   information   &   aid via jotaro's request.   he ventures to the small city  ,   where he accompanies the morioh gang  ,   &   meets the unfamiliar faces that make it up.   it is then when kakyoin joins the hunt for MORIOH'S MURDERER  ,   &   despite the dire circumstances  ,   he couldn't be more excited.

          *  jotaro  kujo  hid  behind  a  mask  of  stoicism  and  anger  ,  usually  pushing  people  away  in nfear  of  hurting  or  endangering  them  ;  but  when  investigating  the  murders  in  morioh  ,  he  would  have  to  deal  with  the  horrible  thought  that  ,  /  yes  /  ,  some  ,  maybe  more  than  just  some  ,  of  the  people  he  did  actually  care  about  would  be  endangered  .  just  like  in  egypt  so  many  years  ago  .  * 
          
          *  and  that  is  why  he  kept  a  close  eye  on  so  many  of  them  ,  one  being  kakyoin  especially  .  sure  ,  he  can  take  care   of  himself  ,  kujo  knew  that  very  well  .  but  after  him  almost  fatally  dying  in  cairo  when  battling  DIO  ,  who  could  really  blame  him  ?  *  so  you're  sure  you're  alright  ,  noriaki  ?  that  stand  user  was  really  something  ,,

            *    kakyoin wasn't like most people    —    ,,     in more ways than once.   but especially in the way of him being abnormally patient.   it was something that most people pointed out during his recovery    —    ʻ   doesn't that irritate you    ?    people constantly asking if you're okay or not    ?   ʼ   if anything  ,   it didn't irritate him    ..    in fact  ,   when it came from the right person  ,   it made him feel warm inside.   it was nice to know his friends cared  ,   no matter how concerned it made them.    *    i've already said so  ,   jotaro    ..    *    the red  -  head answered softly  ,   his ponytail shifting as he rotated his head  ,   appearing relieved with the gentle pop of his neck.    *    i'm fine.   just tired  ,   i guess    ..    it's been a minute since i've fought a stand user with potential.   guess i'm a little rusty    —    ,,     but  ,   we'll fix that soon enough.   but  ,   nevermind me    ..    are you okay    ?    you definitely took some hits.

          001.   CHARACTER INTRODUCTION.⠀NORIAKI KAKYOIN    —    a japaneese  ,   twenty - seven year old male  ,   who works as a part - time archeologist   ,,    who often operates with the SPEEDWAGON FOUNDATION.   he was one of the six STARDUST CRUSADERS who traveled to egypt in 1987 to defeat DIO.   
          
          002.   PHYSICAL APPEARANCE.⠀kakyoin is a 5'10 male with a mesomorphic body type    —    his upper body possessing more of a fit build  ,   whilst his lower half slims down to a more slender build.   his hair is cherry  -  red  ,   &   it now reaches past his shoulder   ;    curls thick   &   mirroring the look of a waterfall as they drape down his upper back    (    though  ,   these curls are often put in a ponytail.    )    despite the change in length  ,   he still has his signature bang that hangs aside his face.   he possesses two identical  ,   vertical scars that cross his eyes  ,   &   large  ,   dark scars that cover both his abdomen   &   lower back    (    from THE WORLD's attack.    )
          
          003.   PHYSICAL APPEARANCE.⠀his outfit typically consists of an emerald green turtle neck  ,   typically worn with a beige trench coat sporting seams   &   details matching the shade of his shirt.   he continues to sport the cherry visuals  ,   wearing long earrings which mimic the style of such  ,   along with many other cherry  -  related items    (    such as the cherry pendant he wears around his neck  ,   the cherry shaped accents on the neck of his shirt  ,   the waist of his belt  ,   &   the cuff of his gloves.    )    his pants   &   gloves are also the beige of his trench coat.   an alternate outfit he wears is a black turtle neck  ,   paired with emerald green coat   &   pants    (    keeping the cherry accessories.    )   he occasionally wears reading glasses  ,   or shades when outside.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS.⠀(contin.)   his life easier.   overtime  ,   he's learned how to function despite his injuries  ,   &   if you were to meet him without knowledge of the incident  ,   you'd assume that there was nothing abnormal about him.   underneath his pants  ,   he wears leg braces    —    ones specifically designed to his likings.   like some braces  ,   they're not bulky  ,   &   aren't that noticeable from outside view.   these support kakyoin during his day  ,   &   help alieve the stress on his legs.   he also has a cane  ,   one which fits his color scheme of red   &   emerald  ,   which he typically only uses when in immense amounts of pain.   sometimes during his travels  ,   his legs can begin to ache from either walking too much or being seated too long.   he's also become more careful   &   alert during stand battles  ,   for the additional pain is something he desires to avoid.

            heeled flats hit against concrete sidewalks with every stride of the red  -  head    —    the breeze comforting  ,   yet packed with some force  ,   causing his signature bang to sweep against his face.   however  ,   he couldn't bring himself to mind it with the sights around him  ,   &   simply tucked it behind his ear.   it was odd  ,   how such a beautiful town could be a home to such heinous things.
