Im trying to understand. How was Alastair there 200 yrs later? Left completely confused

Hi! Alastair had set himself on fire. It took about 200 years for his body (mostly ash) to regenerate, but essentially there was enough of him left in the remains of the fire to reform his body. Hope that helped and thanks for reading!
