Great story—you’re an incredibly talented writer. It’s heartbreaking - I feel so much for both him and his poor wife. His wife deserves so much more…she’s a sweetheart, salt of the earth. What he did was deeply selfish and cowardly, seeking comfort in someone else like that. He opened up to Laney, shared intimate parts of his life, and then kissed her—crossing both emotional and physical boundaries. I really hope it doesn’t go any further than that, because even the kiss alone is damaging enough. Part of me hopes someone witnessed it and tells his wife, so she can make an informed choice—maybe even leave him—and that he spends a long time trying to make amends. As for Laney, her actions were inexcusable, and I hope she faces consequences for them.
