Hi Dear Readers!

I have been away for a while, but I'm going to be migrating back here for some fun projects.

First, I've completed a dark fantasy romance that I'm considering posting here. It is complete!! So I'll likely schedule out posts. You won't have to worry about the story just... disappearing or not continuing. Currently, I have it on Kindle Vella, but not particularly enjoying the experience there.

Second, I am working on a horror/romance retelling of Beauty and the Beast that I'll be sharing here as I plug away at it. It's called Hunger House. When a young woman evading an abusive husband is lured into a house that eats people, she must convince its enamored, monstrous caretaker to help her escape both her husband and the House. I'm very excited about it, and I hope you enjoy it!

The first chapter of Hunger House is up. It introduces you to Sin, the caretaker of Hunger House.

Hey guys!

I'm so sorry about last week and the continued delays with A Gentle Thorn & Biting Rose. I'll have a new chapter for you this Wednesday, and then everything should get back on track as far as having a new chapter every Monday. A BIG thing happens in this chapter and I want to make sure I get it right for you.

I want to discuss the reasons for the delays, outside of my dog being sick (he's better now) and needing to fine tune the chapter for this pivotal moment, but I can't just yet. I'll be able to say more in a few weeks. It's really good news (if all goes well today).

If you're looking for something in the YA/NA fantasy field to hold you over for the time being, my publisher has put the ebook for The Living God on sale for $1.99 (Amazon)!

Here's a review that really makes me giddy:
"This is a wonderful, deeply engaging book for anyone who loves strong characters, and, what's more, a deeply character driven story--which I live for! Each character is rich and engaging--even those you hate! The leads, Saran, Keleir, and Rowe, are handled in such a way as to resonate with the reader, and I love that all three are used as POVs, because it kept me on my toes all the way through!" — NKS, Amazon

Haha, sorry about that last, strange, PDF announcement (unless it didn't go through because I hit delete fast enough?). That's what I get for forgetting that Wattpad doesn't let you copy text. -_-

Okay. So. Let me try this again.

Hey guys! A gentle Thorn & Biting Rose will update on Wednesday this week. Work (as you can tell by my strange PDF announcement???) has been a little hectic. Sorry for the delay!

Hey guys!

Both A Gentle Thorn & Biting Rose and Egress have updated chapters this week! These will be the last updates until the New Year. I will be in my hometown for the holidays, so new chapters won't be posted until the second week in January!

I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday and a Happy New Year! I wish you all the energy, peace, and creativity in 2020!

Happy Monday and Happy Thanksgiving to my American Followers!

National Novel Writing Month comes to a close this week and I've had a BUSY month. I wrapped up the first draft of the sequel to my debut novel The Living God. It will go into heavy editing December through January.

A new chapter of A Gentle Thorn & Biting Rose (AGTABR) is up! One reader has called the story "enthralling" so I am super stoked about that and will ride this little cloud of positivity for a good long while! I hope you'll check it out if you haven't already, and I hope you enjoy it too!

As always, another chapter of Egress goes live on Wednesday.

If you are reading The Seven Kings of Purgatory, you may have noticed I haven't updated it in a few weeks. Please let me know if you are reading that story and want more of it. I do plan on putting more chapters up, as I have chapters written, but I put it on hold to focus on NaNo, AGTABR, and Egress. I will probably go back to it when AGTABR is done, but if you are reading it and wanting more, I'll start posting chapters again. Just let me know!

          Have a great week!

Hey guys! I don't like sending out too many announcements (I never want to be annoying), but I have two new things to share.

I got a message from Wattpad letting me know about #TheGrudgeContest. I decided to enter! You can find my Grudge-themed short, Deer Valley Witch, on my profile. I found inspiration in an old, rundown house on my family's farm. If you enjoy horror or creepy writing, give it a read. It's relatively short at 500 words.

Also, A Gentle Thorn & Biting Rose has a new cover! While I was playing with a cover for Deer Valley Witch, I noticed a stock photo I had in my collection that seemed like a perfect fit! I feel it has a more whimsy/magical feel to it which is so evident in the story.

Okay. I promise, no more announcements this week.

Hey guys!

I changed the beginning of A Gentle Thorn & Biting Rose based on the suggestion of a reader, thanks @StephenEgner. The Prologue is no more! I was having such a hard time deciding how to start this story and created the Prologue to get things rolling. It really takes the mystery away, so I shifted a few vital bits (like character description) into Chapter 1 and have removed it.

I think this change will help get new readers engaged in the story quicker.

For those taking part in NaNo, how's it going?

Also, if you're a local to Philadelphia, I'll be doing a book signing at the Barnes & Noble in Willow Grove, PA this Sat (Nov. 16) from 12PM to 2PM!

          As always, thanks for reading!

Ahhh forgot a Monday Update! Haha.

          Happy Halloween-eve everyone!

A Gentle Thorn & Biting Rose updated with a new chapter on Monday. A new chapter of Egress posted a few minutes ago, and The Seven Kings of Purgatory will get a new chapter on Friday. I'm trying not to be concerned about being overly ambitious with my update schedule. I'm just eager to share these stories with you!

I'm SOOO excited for NaNoWriMo! I will wrap up the draft of the second novel in my Equitas Series, the follow up to my debut, The Living God. I'm trying not to jump the gun on working on it so I meet the wordcount goal for the month fairly!

Happy Monday! (Mondays can be happy if we pretend)

A new chapter of A Gentle Thorn and Biting Rose is up and we're introduced to a new (hopefully fun) character named Flora.

Like last week, new chapters of Egress and 7 Kings will go up on Wednesday and Friday.

Other than that, I'm prepping for #NaNoWriMo! (Are you doing it this year? Add me as a buddy wih Kaytalin Platt as the username.) I'm hoping to finish the last half of The Book of Kings, which is the sequel to my debut novel The Living God. I'm a little nervous, because I thought I had the plot pinned down pretty good and now I'm uncertain! So, I'm going hard on plotting, which is a first for me because I'm very much a pantser or plantser.

Do you guys have any plotting strategy and tips? How do you map out your stories?

AJ_WriterAndCreator

Hey,

I hope you are doing great❤️❤️
Would you mind reading my story. It's a dark fiction. Your honest opinion about the story will mean a lot. ❤️❤️

emorydeen

@AJ_WriterAndCreator I will add it to my list. I'm working on a number of reading and writing projects right now, so it will be a bit before I can get to it!
