in the trials , it works a bit differently than it would in the REAL world . as the entity heals their every affliction after every game in which they are SACRIFICED , the disease is pushed back little by little . yet , every time she survives , it progresses once again . if she were to survive , say , a week , maybe two , without dying — the more prominent symptoms would show up . severe bruising , fevers , constant pain , etc . . only to be wiped away as soon as she is sacrificed again !
