            A MAJOR side effect of this project was that the subjects affected by the extremis serum sometimes cause the subject to experience a volatile and dangerous reaction, where their bodies would overheat, leading to an explosive detonation. in some cases, the serum’s unstable nature caused it to overload, especially when the body was subjected to extreme stress or when the subject was unable to control their enhanced abilities.
            
            it didn't happen to every subject, but the risk was there for those involved.

However, beneath this controlled exterior lies a man who is far more complex. Joon-Ho’s years of living as a weapon, stripped of his identity, have fostered a deep internal struggle. While he’s become a master of hiding his emotions, those who have been close to him—or those who manage to break through his armor—might see a different side. Joon-Ho is capable of deep empathy, and in moments of peace, he can be incredibly soft and gentle. He often has to remind himself that he isn’t a monster, even though his powers sometimes make him feel like one. There are rare, fleeting moments where his past self—before Hydra’s transformation—emerges. In these moments, he shows kindness, particularly to those who have suffered as he has, or those he feels a deep, unspoken connection with.
