sparkingbolts

hey— are you okay? do you need someone to talk to?

sparkingbolts

i get that, and you don’t have to tell yourself you’re fine if you’re not. it’s okay to not be okay. you can cry it out if you need to. it can actually be pretty beneficial to your health, if you can believe that.

She sat down on a bench, brushing away her tears with a handkerchief. "I'm fine... It's just that life gets hard some times."

⠀⠀⠀he had never been wounded like this before. they had been testing him, the humans, sending out troop after troop until they finally figured out his strategy. he had been able to fight them off, but unfortunately, one had cut him deep. and now, he had sensed another, and despite them not being mortal, he quickly became defensive. teeth bared, ears pressed against his skull, nose creased as he snarled.

Victoria was, once again, intruding in matters she wasn't suppose to be part of. But, for once, she felt nostalgia upon seeing the 'not so human' man in front of her. She saw herself reflected in his skin, understanding his condition like nobody else, for she was just like him.

                 Shifter.

She had seen his wings, his scales. Dragon. The creature was so familiar to her, so homelike. This was the first dragon she had seen outside of her planet and she wanted to know his origins. For that, she had approached him to offer help. Victoria's hands glowed with magic together with a circle on her forehead.

            " I am a healer ", she announced.

the demon leaned against a tree , his breathing shallow . He held his side , blood as black as coal coating his hand. He was attacked .. but his healing wasn’t working . He was stabbed by .. a blade , coated in holy water that seemed to weaken him .

He heard something in the darkness , fuck . He wasn’t in any shape to fight off another attack . He glanced around ,

             “ come .. out . “

His voice was soft , filled with discomfort and pain .

"You'll have to trust my abilities..." she said softly, raising her hands to the open wound. There was worry in her eyes, for she new this one wound could kill, easily.

A light so bright flowed from her fingers into the flesh of the man. It was not a godly light, but it was otherworldly, coming from a creature made from godly energy. A small smile appeared on her lips when she noticed that the edges of the wound were closing together. 'A good sign', she thought, giving the stranger a relaxed grin.

In a matter of seconds, the wound was no more. Victoria felt proud of her growing abilities, coming to the realisation that the creature inside of her was now a fully developed adult. Her powers were slowly maturing and so was her mindset.

..

The demons eyes narrowed , a small growl left his lips , warning her not to come any closer .

“ you .. can help ? “ he panted , he was losing more and more blood . Demons can live through almost anything but a wound of this size and his healing not working , he knew he would be dead in the matter of minutes .

“ h..how can I be sure you are telling the truth ? “ he muttered , staring at her , trying to figure out what she really was .

It was inevitable —Victoria was too kind to ignore the wounded creature—. She had followed him quietly. Or at least that's what she thought. Cheeks blushes in deep cherry hue when she got caught. What was she even thinking? Following strangers around was something so unlike herself, yet there she was.

Coming out from the shadows of the night, she met the 'man'. There was no doubt: the black liquid coming out of his wound was enough proof to tell that he wasn't human. She was, out of all creatures on Earth, not the one supposed to meet up with beings so dark.

" I can help...", she said in a low voice, signaling at the wound with her bare hands.

" Such place? That's how you refer to book stores? ", Victoria asked , tilting her head to the side. "Name's Victoria. You may call me Vic though."

She proceeded to grab a gardening book, eyeing the pages fondly.

it was a wonder. old and abandoned places had suck hidden treasures to them. the forgotten cathedral left in decay still resembled its beautiful architecture, despite the moss and missing pillars. roof gleaming open from rotten ceilings and supports letting all sorts of life blossom in the once stone halls. everything cracked and broken, not even a single floor slab spared from nature's toll. all biseds one thing. seemingly a statue laid unbroken. in the drawer depth of this place was an unmoving creature. curled up in bat-like wings, covering the over seven feet tall monster. tied to the floor by a surprisingly pristine collar and chains while the rest of it was covered in dust. the detail alone was unbelievable. like it was live.

" how long? " it repeated, clear it didn't know. this place was new and lively when forst captured. he was sure even some new parts were built onto it by the time he had been trapped there. now it was left to decay, to fall apart into dust lile it never existed. that doesn't happen over night to marble and stone. he would seem to seep in the thought, even he couldn't puzzle together how much time could have caused all of this. " I slept for far longer. not sure exactly sice the light never reaches this far. counting days isn't exactly easy. " it couldn't lie. despite what religion people said, it was against his nature to lie. almost all demonic creatures couldn't lie. only mislead and tempt.

as for the first question, unconsciously he would reach to touch the cross burnt to its forehead. the thought of thay man would never leave it. not even knowing he was probably no more than dust at this point. " the holy man of this place. who preached nearly each day to those who came. " back when there was a toen around this place. wooden building long overtaken and swallowed by nature.

" I would be indebted if you could help. are you willing to accept such a responsibility for what may come frkm such a bind? " a favor to a demon didn't go without punishment or reward, even if it wasn't fully demon anymore, it still had laws to follow.

Her defensive stance crumbled to pieces when she noticed the situation in which the being was left. The chains keeping it from moving around freely made her heart ache with guilt. She felt guilty for being afraid of the trapped and sentient creature.

With a swift movement, she returned the staff of Ayshel to the sheath on her back. Then, she moved closer to inspect the chains. Again, her heart tore apart at the sight.

"Who did this to you? And for how long?" she dared ask, voice struggling to come out of her throat since a knot had begun to settle in it. She tried to think of ways to unleash the creature. Perhaps, she could try some advanced spells and turn the metal into ice... She brushed her fingers over the chains —thick, unforgiving, restrainers of freedom—. Victoria could understand the suffering too well for she had been captured and chained a couple times in the past. Some beings were greedy and poisonous; they tried to suffocate her light.

at least it wasn't like she was in any danger. the creature was no ruthless animal or a barbaric demon. no, even in hell it was seen as almost royalty. here? well, more like a disciplined pet to those forgotten humans that caught him. yes, there was venom for those who mistreated him, but not towards all humans or those who resembled them. their kindness saved his sanity for so long. saved his hope even.

after a moment of frozen thought, it moved to sit up, as much as the chain would allow him to. it was made short just to be inconvenient. he couldn't even really sit without a slight slouch from the chains pulling tight. it was probably for the best. taking away any semblance of intimidation. keeping it smaller and maybe even a bit more pathetic in a sense.

it would stay silent for a while, almost as if it didn't understand or could speak at all. honestly it was still just trying to figure out if this was a dream or actually happening. there were no visitors to this forgotten place.

" fair greetings- " it sighed, surprised that its voice even made a sound after how long it had been silent.

sprawled out on his back on a fresh, soft, grassy field, mīṣráyīm let the winds speak to him, his erratically slow - beating heart danced in a sweetened sadness. Far away, and hiding in a century he loathed, yet merely even belonged to; lived, roaming the decade old earth. He missed egypt, the food, the vast culture and the love of his mother, his brothers even .. Lost in a melody subconsciously, he senses prickle when he hears something .. He could sense another presence, a scent of a mortal, but he feigns ignorance, wanting nothing but to remain blissfully lost in his own word.

Was this it? Finally meeting someone she could actually talk to. Had she encountered the righteous one? She took a deep, hefty breath inside her mighty chest, setting her emotions down for a bit. How was she so jumpy and flustered? It felt like being a small girl again, going through a crush so big it didn't fit within a mortal heart. Colour had tinted her usually pale cheeks, reminding her of her humanity and her passions.

" Lunnaris is from a planet far away from Earth. She's the embodiment of energy and knowledge, crafted by the gods. The Six. She's also the last of her kind," she spoke softly, as if reciting from a textbook. And, partially, she was for she had memorized quite a bunch of Idhun's history text books. Idhun's magic and religion were her reality, even when she stood so far away from home, far away from the three suns and the three moons.

elyāqîm tilted his head, understanding downing on him in small ripples. In a heartbeat of a moment, he grunts at the sounding of his name on her ancient lips. It was difficult, tough even to grasp how much he longed for .. warmth. That alone had been the exact reason why he’d come to the meadows to find some semblance of warmth and peace, but having found non; his heart ached for that void to be filled. yet the longer he remained in her presence, the clearer it became of the .. the things he was beginning to want? Which was merely ridiculous! he hardly even knew her, and gods, how strange was it, that he felt no ounce of fear towards her; or from her. giving victoria a curt nod, he let out a long held breath, and hands lift to whisk through his red locks.

She found herself blinking, lips slightly parted as he spoke.  So that was his name — she wasn't ready for the phonetics, the Mediterranean tint that she knew so well. It reminded her of her roots. Her birthplace as a human, where Lunnaris was reborn into Victoria's mortal flesh. Spain. Her eyes softened, heart fluttered at the thought of him not being so foreign.

" Eliaquim ", she pronounced with harsh Spanish accent. She was well aware that her pronunciation wasn't on spot, but her mother tongue wanted to slip from her grasp and take control of the name, play with it and give it a more familiar taste.

The strength within her small body faltered momentarily at his sudden and very close proximity. She could feel the warmth against her own forehead, the tiny pressure of the touch. Her mind was lost and, upon hearing his demands, the wall between her two souls broke. The demigod felt the call, the urge to get out of the mortal cage and show herself in front of her equal, standing in front of her.

The touch of his forehead was gone, but her skin tingled with the excitement of it.

" Lunnaris... That's her name; The name of the godly creature trapped inside of me ", she finally confessed, straightening her back, standing firm and confident as she looked at him. She bit her lip, wondering if she could really trust him that much. This powerful being, dark and attractive. However, deep within her soul, there was little to no doubt. Both her human and her not human soul believed she was doing the right thing.
