Im sorry, but am i the only one who's tired of writers using rape/sexual assualt(or any type of trauma) as a form of "character development"? like in chapter 8 of temptress when Amber got sexually assaulted, but it was for the development of her character??? Literally, how does that make her a better person in any way? Im so tired of this "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" type of stuff that authors are always using because most of the time, that isn't the case & trauma can lead to self-destructive(i mean duh, it's also shown in the book). It also shows the lack of research & insensitivity coming from the writer's side when using such a sensitive topic as just "character development" when most of the time, the only thing rape develops is trauma & self-destructive habits. I'm not hating in the you or your books they're quite good, but there have to be different ways of developing your character without traumatizing them. Im also tired of these bwwm stories, where most of the time, it's the black fem mc that mostly suffers in the relationship bc of the actions of yt male mc while the yt male mc rarely doesn’t suffer from the consequences of his actions but it's mostly the blk fmc that has to pay the price.
Anyways, that's what i wanted to say, since. i literally can't stop thinking about tempress no matter what im doing, and i don't think it's a good thing please don't take what i said as discouragement.
