On Tuesday the 27th, 1782, John Laurens was killed in a gunfight against British troops retreating from South Carolina. The war was already over. As you know, John dreamed of emancipating and recruiting 3000 men for the first all black military regiment. His dream of freedom for these men dies with him. 
          
          It's been 238 years. Thank you John, and I'm sorry for everything that is happening.

Today is the four year anniversary of Leslie Odom Jr, Phillipa Soo, Ariana DeBose, and Lin-Manuel Miranda's last show for Hamilton at the Richard Rogers Theater on Broadway.
