Hello! I think your story is off to a great start! I also write, and am an English major. Isaac is such a great character. He became my absolute favorite of the show! Since you mentioned wanting some ideas/suggestions, here are a couple for a next chapter or two:
Chapter 3: Try to put his sister in the mix. Francoise is his priorty at this time. The female protagonist should meet her in some scenario, whether it is a shared class or fencing. Then, bring this into the two having lunch together, in which Isaac reluctantly joins because his sister waves him over (and he would never say no to her of course). The lunch conversation is a small step in the right direction in that Isaac will get to know the protagonist, and will pay attention to how she is around his sister. He is still very closed off, but he comes to notice her so to speak.
Chapter 4: Throw in a subtle, small, outside conflict (this could be an annoying student, or group of not nice ones that bug the protagonist. Either way, this is something small that can be built upon as the story goes on. Isaac will come to notice this at first, and from afar, will use his powers to scare them off, and of course the protagonist will not know it was him who helped. Then, bring this into a group activity with Gomez, Morticia, Francoise, and Isaac (who came because his sister bugged him until he agreed). Some how, Isaac and the protagonist get stuck hanging together and start to small talk, but ultimately come to see that they have a lot in common. End the chapter with him suddenly inviting her to his lab in the Iago tower.
Just some ideas! :)
