@evdilavrentis while I agree that he is protected by a lot of people interested in f1, i think it’s important to acknowledge the other factors that have contributed to his pole to win ratio. In majority of the races he’s on pole, ferrari messes up their strategy that leads to him getting stuck in traffic or having something go wrong. It’s also important to note that along with the terrible strategies, ferrari has also struggled to make a good car for basically the last 20 years. I completely agree that there are times where it isn’t just the car or ferrari’s strategies but i’d say about 99% of the time, it is those things. I think it’s also important to point out that other very successful drivers, like max and seb, have stated that charles is one of, if not the best, drivers they’ve seen so while his stats aren’t that impressive at a first glance, his overall driving and talent speaks for itself.
