being in a gc with people who actually know and talk to f1, f2, f3 and f4 drivers is a godsend because wdym i can just read all the tea about them (not that i’m into that stuff)
some of y’all are gonna flame me for this but dare i say that charles is the greatest example of pretty privilege… that guy is so protected within the f1 space that no one dares to speak ill of him. like he has the worst pole to win conversion ratio ever but people glaze him. he’s clearly got the talent i just think he’s a bit overrated imo
@evdilavrentis while I agree that he is protected by a lot of people interested in f1, i think it’s important to acknowledge the other factors that have contributed to his pole to win ratio. In majority of the races he’s on pole, ferrari messes up their strategy that leads to him getting stuck in traffic or having something go wrong. It’s also important to note that along with the terrible strategies, ferrari has also struggled to make a good car for basically the last 20 years. I completely agree that there are times where it isn’t just the car or ferrari’s strategies but i’d say about 99% of the time, it is those things. I think it’s also important to point out that other very successful drivers, like max and seb, have stated that charles is one of, if not the best, drivers they’ve seen so while his stats aren’t that impressive at a first glance, his overall driving and talent speaks for itself. At the end of the day, you don’t have to win the most to be good at something
Yeah I agree as a Hamilton fan, if he wasn’t as pretty he probably wouldn’t have had a seat I also felt like Sainz did better than him in Sainz’ last season he deserved that seat more than Charles.
