            Lin watches the display quietly, a small smile across his lips at the theatrics of it all. He'll admit, it's hard to sleep by himself now that he knows what an Elliot-cuddle is like. He nods the slightest bit at the question. "Would you?"

(  @wiltedschools  )⠀⠀☥⠀⠀[elliott sighs, shifting around for a few moments in a half-hearted attempt at finding a comfortable position. eventually, he gives up and rolls from his stomach to his side, dark hues tracing what he can see of lin's figure from where he lies across the room.]⠀.. can i come over there.  :(

            "Be realistic, Elliot. It's just not possible. How would I even get you to my house without them noticing?"

            Lin's fingers continue to rake through Elliot's hair, his brain almost forgetting he's doing so. "Well, it's the truth. I think you're the prettiest boy I've ever seen." Linden smiles softly down at the other, a faint blush creeping up his neck and cheeks at the sheer honesty. 

(  @wiltedschools  )⠀⠀☥⠀⠀[elliott's heart is in his throat, thumping faster with every word the other utters. he's flustered, extremely so, but, not by any means does he want him to stop. if anything, he only nestles closer, chasing the comfort and security lin's presence provides, coupled with the mind-numbing softness of his fingers combing through his locks.]⠀mm, i like when you call me that.

            Almost reflexively, Linden cradles Elliot's head in his lap, one hand running through his hair once more. It's slow and repetitive, almost an intentional pattern of movement. His ears and cheekbones flush the slightest bit when he catches the other's gaze. "Yeah⸺but you're always pretty."

            Linden can't bring himself to look at Elliot, eyes fixed on the peeling skin on his hands instead. He doesn't want him to worry, but he can't bring himself to even look at the food Eli brought. "Thanks," is all he can mumble, a repeated appreciation, as he leans back against the wall, the rest of him situated on his bed.

            He studied the other, as he always has. It's all he knows how to do and all he can do as his hands attempt to bring comfort, rubbing soft circles into the other's skin. He doesn't know what he's doing, truly, just that he hates seeing Elliot in so much distress. He's heard the tales of the elder Dalton's harshness, but he's never had to truly witness the effects of it until now. 
            
            "It's okay. While we're here, they don't have to know, simple as that. Again, as long as you're happy. Alright?" With a soft smile, Linden brings a set of hands to his lips and presses a gentle kiss to the back of Elliot's hand. 

iD. @wiltedschools⠀✦⠀[normally, it would hurt him, hearing someone say such rash things about his once-beloved parents, but now, he only finds himself inclined to agree. the thought of losing the other is unbearable; he's eli's sanctuary, the one person who truly understands him, who sees beyond the facade of obedience and faith to the person the brunet is beneath it all. and, though the weight of their disapproval presses heavily on his shoulders, a constant reminder of the chasm between their beliefs and his own heart, he knows, deep down, what he wants. and, as linden laces their fingers, he knows he's not alone. the love, the compassion, the  / yearning /  is mutual; it always has been.]⠀you don't deserve this, you know──someone who can only love you in private. it's not fair.

            "I'm sorry your parents are such pieces of shit." It's out before Linden can help it, tone level but harsh with something burning deep. Is this what true hatred feels like? Whatever he feels for the elder Daltons is beyond positive, that's all he knows.
            
            Before he can stop himself, his hands are reaching for Elliot's, firm but gentle in their grasp. "As selfish as it sounds, I'm not letting some raging religious morons dictate my relationship. They can shove their rosaries or crosses or whatever up their asses for all I care, as long as (you're) happy."
