I know probably no know is reading this, but messages like this need to be heard. Can we stop ignoring the lack of diversity on Wattpad? I think of all my time on Wattpad, all the stories I’ve read, I’ve only seen 1 book with a black main character. Why is that? It’s takes absolutely NO extra effort to write a person of color as the main character so why do you continue to write stories with no diversity?
On the topic of LACK OF REPRESENTATION, why is every character straight? It is extremely unrealistic to have no poc and no lgbtq+ members in a story. “It’s Wattpad, it’s fictional, it doesn’t matter” YES IT DOES MATTER. Again, it takes ZERO effort to write in a queer character. As an lgbtq+ member, it is infuriating to have no representation in media as large as Wattpad. And if you are complaining, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. It’s 2022, get some representation in your stories.
