CASE ₁ ONE . . › The “God[ess]” a Shackled Tempest, a being long before the creation of humanity who were able to give names to the stars. Ryōko was the first goddess to have ruled over the first storms, a being who was never worshipped for her kindness, and sailors would beg for the mercy of such a goddess to look elsewhere. Among the elders, Ryōko bore the simple truth that nature possesses no morality, a goddess regarded as an unavoidable law of existence. Such a perception was shattered by the “The Lament of Nythalos” ₂ a scripture of history now hidden, and any known tablets have writing smudged off purposefully. However, one fact remains true, and it is the cold punishment of gods stripping Ryōko of her dominion over the sea. Others insist she alone declared war upon the heavens, but few texts share that there was more at play. Except it was Ryōko’s sword which stained of the hundreds of gods and goddesses which perished beneath her wrath. Unable to kill her, the goddess was dismantled of her authority. Her divinity fractured into innumerable seals, her true form of a dragon laid beneath the Academy of Blackwood Concord. Her consciousness confined to her typically humanoid vessel, walking along the fine lines of the school’s borders, but never able to cross it. Most students know of her as a composed faculty member who always wears a smile, but not many are aware of what true role she plays at the academy. Except every storm that rolls by, is the goddess who turns within her refined chains underneath the architecture.
