I finally started writing a new book in October of this past year, but I really only been able to work on it during the small intervals that my baby decides to sleep in her crib and I’m not also trying to steal some sleep myself. Looking back through it today, I realized that I’ve written a lot more than I thought I had. Admittedly it’s still not very much in the grand scheme of things and who knows how long it’ll be until I’ll post it since it’s all handwritten at this point. That being said, it’s felt really great to back into writing again and here’s to finding more time for it in 2025!

One of my writer friends on here (@JackieBendster) finished the first book of their trilogy. I’d recommend Savages and Purists to those who enjoy New Adult Roman-tasy, magic school settings, or anyone looking for a great read for read partner

If any of my followers are fans of teen romance, I’d recommend “Color of Love” by @JackieBendster

The author is also currently working on a fantasy trilogy and is really fun to comment back and forth with.

Extremely sorry for disappearing on your book. It was never my intention, and I completely know its my fault, so sorry about it. Won't be making excuses, will only say that I will get back to it real soon.

Sounds good! I’m hoping I’ll be able to check out your latest update sometime this weekend too @LuvArora25

Heyy!! Thanks for voting on my story, would you be interested in doing a read for read? Your story Childrens Draft, and I think it could be on the same wavelength as mine. I'd love to give it a read, would you be interested in continuing to read mine? I'm looking for critiques and suggestions on how to make it more realistic. Let me know if you'd be interested : ) Have a lovely day <3

@eyhuff perfect, I'll do the same thing then : )

@rose_marie_96 yeah it’s a bunch of teenage boys who spend the first half or so of the book convinced it’s about their jungle shenanigans rather than a war.

But I’m enjoying yours so far! I tend to pace myself at about a chapter a day, so you should be getting slow, but consistent engagement

@eyhuff that sounds really clever to have the narrators be in denial about the stuff they're going through, and I'd love to give it a go. I've just read through all your comments so far and I hope you're enjoying it, and I know it's gonna be really helpful for my editing so I thank you !!

I’ve been transcribing some of my old writings and came across some of these extra scenes I did while creating/getting to know the children’s draft characters during the early planning stages. These are just backstory scenes that I couldn’t really fit into the larger story beyond a character potentially alluding to an event that happened. It features some of the early stages of Matteo and Emmy’s relationship, Landon navigating his home life with his older sisters, and Connor’s (and to an extent, Aaron’s) upbringing in toxic masculinity and how they developed their sort of “us against the world” mentality. None of these are necessary for understanding the story as a whole, but I figured I might as well post them in case anyone would be interested.

Leave it to my idiot boys to make a war zone funny and suburbia depressing as hell.

Not sure how this will go since it’s not a novel (or really even a story per se) but we’ll see. I’m leaning into the comedy writer in me and decided to expand on a project I worked on in the summer of 2020. The script style made it simple enough to type on my phone while my baby contact naps on me.

This is a revue style show (think a fictional concert) with song parodies from the viewpoint of GOP Senators near the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. I did a little bit of research and based on the fact that it’s all public officials, coupled with the overall silly nature of the show, I think it’s okay to post it within the confines of satire and parody law.

@eyhuff Sounds interesting. And it even has script format, I am very curious now. Will be reading it in the future
