¹¹  if it wasn't obvious  ,  he named himself.  all he had ever been referred to by was   '  failure  '   ,  so they just changed it up a bit.

¹  they're not introduced until season two.  this is the season they escape the lab and find their way to jane. they're eleven years old at this time.
            
            ²  he's very clueless about the concept of good and bad.  he tends to be a follower  —  if he likes you  ,  then they'll listen to what you tell them to do.  this has hindered his process of learning proper morals.
            
            ³  he tends to stick in a constant state of cluelessness mixed with genuine joy.  they're just happy to be here.
            
            ⁴  emotions confuse them.  they don't always feel the emotion they're displaying  ,  he's just copying what he's seen others do.  he lived in a constant state of fear and anxiety prior to escaping  ,  but he's at least learned how to feel other things  ..  he just doesn't always know   what   they're feeling.  
            
            ⁵  despite his true nature  ,  he's generally a sweet person  ..  to those he favors  ,  at least.  then there's the fact that he's not destined to make the right choice of friends.  he's easy to win over friendship wise  —  it's very possible for that to be taken advantage of.  he's sweet either way though!
            
            ⁶  they love colorful things.  colors outside of pristine white and crimson red were his normal for the first decade of their life.  when they saw how much made up the world  ,  they got a little obsessed.
            
            ⁷  big time animal lover.
            
            ⁸  his main concept was that he's meant to look unsuspecting.  you wouldn't look a guy whose obsessed with rainbows and animals and think that he'd be able to turn into a demogorgon.
            
            ⁹  his demogorgon form isn't revealed until the third season.  no one in the main group is meant to like end up hating them  ,  but discomfort is understandable.  if you account is a canon character  ,  you can choose how they react.  I don't have anything specific set in place.
            
            ¹⁰  speaks a little too loud and a little too fast.

ABILITIES  . . .
            
            they can communicate with anything from the upside down.
            
            they can pinpoint when things from the upside are near.
            
            the creatures from the upside down don't see them as a threat.  since they're of the same blood  ,  fai isn't recognized as an enemy  —  not until he makes an attack.  
            
            while they themself can't open portals  ,  they're very in tune with the ones that are opened by others.  they can tell when they're opened and who or what goes through them.  they won't know where it opens though ( unless it's nearby )  ,  only that it's happening.
            
            they can transform into a demogorgon.  their form is smaller but more agile.  while they have less strength than the original they're far quicker.  they try to avoid shifting though  ,  as it gets hard to control after a certain period of time.
