ANNIVERSARY: as if it were only yesterday, i'm still searching for the right words to capture everything i've felt. emotions that now breathe through these stories.
          
          IDU was born during my undergrad days, right when i was anxiously waiting for the list of graduates. my emotions were all over the place, crashing into one another. i was a mess. i remember writing through caffeine fueled nights, fingers numb, thoughts racing, but i kept going. kung hindi ako magsusulat, mas mag-o-overthink ako. kaya kahit madaling araw na, i kept writing and writing until i was completely worn out. publishing it made me proud, because it meant i had made it through. the waiting was over, i deserved that sense of peace. but now, every time i click IDU, it scares me. because it takes me back to a version of myself that was afraid, uncertain, and barely holding on.
          
          still, i'm grateful. that part of me—raw, hopeful, desperate to make it—still breathes in those pages. IDU might be heavy, but it’s a remembrance of my "hindi ako papayag na hindi ako maka-graduate.”
          
          for IBTS, it came unexpectedly. while i was doing the dishes. the timing? very familiar. a new story idea while so many others remained unfinished. :")))
          
          writing IBTS felt refreshing, especially after writing DBATC, which was a bit too light me. the evidence na mahilig ako sa angst haha! i've always leaned towards angst, and IBTS was a return to that. it may be fiction, but it holds fragments of real stories—stories I gathered just by listening. when a writer takes in what others carry, something new starts to take shape. that’s how IBTS was born.
          
          I’m still surprised by how it ended, but, i know that my stories know where they’re going before i do. sila ang nagdedesisyon, tagasulat lang ako.
