It wasn’t spoken lightly. It carried weight. Intent. The kind that made her pulse stutter because she knew he meant it. “To let go of restraint… forget the rules, this office, and everything else. And just give in to this forbidden fire between us.” As he said it, he leaned in again, pressing a soft kiss to her cheek this time unhurried, reverent. It wasn’t meant to take.
It was meant to claim, gently. Her eyes fluttered shut at the contrast, at how tenderness could feel just as dangerous.
“To give in to your sweet addiction.” he murmured, the name slipping out like it belonged there. He nuzzled his nose into the softness of her cheek, lingering, breathing her in, as if committing the feel of her to memory.
