"Celia slipped off her headphones and edged towards the door of the penthouse. Happy was passed out on the couch, snoring softly, blissfully unaware that the young girl was headed to the roof. Her bare feet made no noise on the cold tile when she exited and she let out a breath she didn't realise she was holding.
The roof was quiet and allowed her to just think and clear her head. She sat on the edge, breathing deeply as she watched disco lights flood the city beneath her- her father- she turned her face towards the moon and shut her eyes. Celia enjoyed the silence more than her dads parties, he told her time and time again she could come (as long as Pepper watched her) but she refused every time. The idea of being around all those people she didn't know made her feel sick.
It was nearing one o'clock in the morning when she spotted what she thought to be her father leave, swaying as Pepper directed him to the building. Celia stood, yawned and dropped back down into the stairwell, sliding her headphones on once again. "
