You know what I've noticed? When someone is writing fan-fiction about 5 Seconds of Summer they have no regard for their home country. When writing about One Direction 98% of the time, the novel will be set in England (or Ireland of it is a Niall AU), when writing about Dan and PHIL, set in England. Pierce the Veil, always set in America. For every fandom, the characters of a book will be set in their country of origin, but then when it comes to 5 Seconds of Summer, it's as if people want to completely forget and disregard the fact that they are Australian. 70% of 5SOS books I have read has been set in America (sometimes, but rarely, England) with nothing to state that they're from Australia, and then when people do acknowledge that they are in or are from Australia, they completely change everything about Australia to fit in with what they like. I've seen people say that they're in Australia in January, and that its cold, that it's freaking SNOWING!! You know when it snows in Australia? When you're in Perisher, Tasmania or you decide to crush some ice up and throw it at the neighbours car.

I understand that this probably isn't a big deal, but for me it is, Australia finally has a big name in the music industry since ACDC, and we have so many ways to celebrate it and be proud of it, while others want to erase the fact completely.

Stop taking the Aussie of our boys.
