death was such a powerful force; one that / wouldn’t / stop at the hands of some / random / person because they begged for mercy right before their death. that just / wasn’t / how things worked.

unfortunately that wasn’t how things worked. no matter how / hard / people try to delay their death or even try to / stop / it, it doesn’t work.

trix knew that better than anyone. especially when she / saw / their best friend die. it was quite .. / pathetic / really. there was this / anger / that festered deep within her; one that was / targeted / towards the entity that ended the lives of people.

it was nothing but a / sick / joke.

a joke that was so / not / funny! it was actually very / far / from funny for that matter. but what could a person do? it’s not like / death / could really listen to people. but it / did / enjoy going / against / people’s wishes.

trix was / very / aware of that. the times she’s / tried / to die just to be with their best friend again was ( unfortunately ) stopped because death didn’t seem to think it was / her / time yet. or maybe it wanted to kill them. she wasn’t / sure / but they were sure that she absolutely / hated / it!

why the hell would they / willingly / want to wait around for her inevitable demise when they could just end it all for herself!?

it didn’t matter though. not anymore. not when they / knew / they were the chosen one! her death had been prevented! that meant it / skipped / over her and was going to go after the next person!

sadly, that / next / person happened to be their best friend. one who she / didn’t / want to see die!

and maybe that’s why they were so / quick / to try and find them; to / prevent / their death just like / her / death had been prevented. they were the chosen one! trix wasn’t / going / to die! she had no / reason / to worry about herself anymore!

          that’s how this worked!

this message may be offensive
death’s design was / simple / and they had / cheated / it! she was / obviously / meant to survive! there was no way that they / weren’t / meant to survive! if she wasn’t meant to survive then they would be / dead / right now but she wasn’t!

            they were / alive /!

so it was / only / fair she helped their best friend survive; to skip over them and go to the next person in line. kind of a / shitty / thing to do but it was better than / nothing / !

trix was quick to be able to find her friend; not that it was really all that hard. they had / always / updated each other on where they were. it was to help / ease / the paranoia that trix had; the one where they were / terrified / to find out that another person close to her died.

and they were / not / going to allow that to happen!

“jayde!” trix calls out, nearly / tripping / over her own feet as they rush towards the other. what the hell was going to kill them? they had / zero / clue!

everything was a hazard now. especially for the people that were meant to die. death was / clever / in that way; it kept people on their toes. kept people / wondering / when and / how / they were going to die.

clever piece of / shit / if you asked trix.

“watch out!” she calls out, pushing their friend out of the wall of a tree branch that falls down from seemingly / nothing /. that had to be it then, right?! were they / free /!?

truthfully, trix had / no / clue if they were safe now. and that’s what she / hated / the most about this / damn / design.

you never can tell if you got / skipped / or not unless it was / shoved / in your face.
