FAWN SPEAKS!!

rant time because sometimes i feel like such a twisted person with the way i write stories. i’m currently working on my sterling point fic and i feel so cruel for what i’m putting these characters through. it’s made me wonder what other writers’ limits are, because obviously everyone has a point where certain topics become too much or just aren’t something they’re comfortable writing about.

mine seems to be very hurt/comfort focused, especially when it comes to mental health. those sorts of struggles have been prevalent enough around me throughout my life that i think i naturally end up exploring them through my characters, but somehow actually sitting down and writing a character going through them hits me so much harder??? i don’t know if it’s because there’s a familiarity to some of it, or because i get way too emotionally attached to my own characters.

i think the morbid part for me is how willing i am to actually write about these things. mental health, death, grief, trauma, or even putting a child character in a situation where they get hurt or witness something awful. i never want any of it to come across like i’m romanticizing those subjects, because that’s the complete opposite of what i’m trying to do, but then i sit there and realize that i’m still the person choosing to write it. like why did my brain decide THIS was the story we needed to tell???

i think that’s why i’m so curious about other writers and where their limits are. do they ever write something really dark or upsetting and suddenly become hyperaware that they willingly came up with it??? because sometimes i’ll be writing and have this moment of “jesus christ,” even though the entire reason i’m exploring it is because i care about how those experiences affect the characters afterward.

          	anyways.

@hrrtlvette it's like you've just picked around in my brain but yeah!! getting real on the wattpad here but i always talk about why i'm such a fanatic for angst and whump, and the hurt/comfort type of things and the more i mull over it the more i'm kinda like yeah looking on what i've grown up around and the situations i've dealt with in my life i see that it makes sense. it's still scary writing about it all in my books though because i feel so morbid when i do, and i just don't and hope people don't think like 'oh she's writing about these disorders and rahrahrah' as if i don't research the topics and write them in a way it's not like triggering or idealizing the topic, yk?

@fawnnessque i think i get what you mean, dw. it's like you're projecting but not projecting? Like you're taking experiecnes you know and kinda writing into words what you can't say outloud type of situation? but you're not trying to make the theme glamourus, it's just the type of thing you find like not comfort but you write because thats what you know..

girl I probably did mention my gravity falls oc x canon book on your board but that message is not there but I just realized my oc looks like curly haired Lottie Matthews from Yellow Jackets except she's Cuban-american and younger than Lottie (respectfully she's twelve)

Cherrybloosomsworld

@fawnnessque like I was looking yellowjackets up and I came across Lottie with her curls and I was like “wait..why does she look like my gravity falls oc?”

Like she looks like a older version of my oc but my oc doesn’t descent into madness like Lottie (and is twelve/thirteen) and Im not sure what ethnicity is Lottie but my oc is Latina-Caribbean American

I was just wondering if you're still gonna continue the oneshots for Devil's Eyes but just focusing on Little Miss Perfect or if you're just completely done with it or something

fawnnessque

100% i’m still doing oneshots, and ill be doing them for both!! once the final chapter is posted for little miss perfect ill set up the oneshots chapter, i only haven’t posted anything for devils eyes because i dont have too many ideas at the moment, but i’ll always be working on the oneshots on the side while i focus on writing my other books

the song 'outro' by M83 never fails to make my gag reflex lock up. every time i hear an inch of the sound im certain i'm going to vomit just from hearing it, thats how visceral of a reaction that song brings me..

Wafflelover8976

@fawnnessque i’m gonna listen to it

fawnnessque

that is so strange!! when i look at my stories both as an editor and in the view you all see, it’s completely normal so im not sure what’s happening there..

i'm starting to get towards the finalish chapters of little miss perfect, meaning once it's all done i can start releasing the chapters guys!!

Cherrybloosomsworld

@fawnnessque like my WTD one should be shorter than that

@fawnnessque meanwhile my steven universe one takes only nearly fifty pages and I'm doing it episodic (gotta write my version of the episode)
