Hiii!! Next chapter is delayed, so sorry!!
I got caught up with school work and family stuff; so it’s taking much longer than I’d like for it to… I’m also working on other fanfics on AO3, and it’s been hard for me to get back into writing the chiscara fic. But!! I’m gonna do my best to get a chapter out by the end of this week at least <3

So, Ei, The Shogun and Scaramouche have curly hair naturally, but after being ‘abandoned’ Scara began straightening it everyday, not wanting to remind himself of his mother. However, after a while, once he adopted his new identity, not long after being defeated by the traveler, he let it be natural from now on, even letting it start to grow out a bit to try experimenting with new hairstyles he remembered from what Ei taught him as well as what Nahida was currently teaching him. His main reason for this was to show he was healing, to show he was getting better. Especially after all that time spent with Dottore who would deliver harsh punishments when Scara tried letting it go natural again, though those few times where when he was still extremely naive. Not that he still isn’t, he is aware of that, his knowledge of how the world actually works is similar to Collei’s at this point, barely able to read and struggles with writing too. But all that he wants to show is that he’s getting better, even if it’s only a small steps for now
