indycar need to actually start enforcing its rules rather than letting drivers off to avoid a pr disaster bc we're getting the same things happen again and again. indycar have changed the push to pass rules so that what happened in long beach is no longer illegal so they don't have to take any action.
if we look back to what happened with the penske's 2 years ago, all 3 drivers were penalised for having illegal software on that car that meant the rules stopping push to pass from being activated on restarts were bypassed, but out of the 3 drivers, the 2 who actually used it were given a much harsher penalty. i struggle to see how this is much different. the rule said "push to pass is not enabled on restarts", meaning drivers know they shouldn't be allowed to use it, yet 12 out of 24 running cars pressed it anyway and benefited from it. and indycar have essentially retroactively made it legal rather than trying to fix the problem itself.
indycar consistently does such a bad job of enforcing its rules that its no wonder cheating scandals keep happening.
