finally recovered from that indy 500 finish. the thing i love about the indy 500 is that almost regardless of who wins, i will be excited for that person and devastated for like 3 other people.

on a very unrelated note, i believe that the international mocking of british people for complaining about 30 degree heat is a sign of people not truly understanding the threats of climate change. one of the reasons climate change is so bad is that we have developed our societies for certain conditions so when they change, we don't have the infrastructure to deal with it

had a dream last night that someone released a deluxe version of an album (can't remember who. might've been lucy dacus or olivia rodrigo) and one of the bonus tracks was a charles leclerc piano cover of one of their songs

got an email that implied a change of date for an event without being explicit about it and also didn't specify which of two dates actually applied. sent an email seeking clarification of when specifically this would take place. shortly after received an email that was a copy/paste of the previous one. cool thanks. helpful. reading it another time will make me a mind reader.

indycar need to actually start enforcing its rules rather than letting drivers off to avoid a pr disaster bc we're getting the same things happen again and again. indycar have changed the push to pass rules so that what happened in long beach is no longer illegal so they don't have to take any action.
if we look back to what happened with the penske's 2 years ago, all 3 drivers were penalised for having illegal software on that car that meant the rules stopping push to pass from being activated on restarts were bypassed, but out of the 3 drivers, the 2 who actually used it were given a much harsher penalty. i struggle to see how this is much different. the rule said "push to pass is not enabled on restarts", meaning drivers know they shouldn't be allowed to use it, yet 12 out of 24 running cars pressed it anyway and benefited from it. and indycar have essentially retroactively made it legal rather than trying to fix the problem itself.
indycar consistently does such a bad job of enforcing its rules that its no wonder cheating scandals keep happening.
