it was hard to say whether nick was alright right now or not . physically , he looked okay — but something about him just seemed ... off . he wasn't all giddy and happy anymore , the spark was gone from his eyes . something was wrong , it was obvious . even if he tried to hide it , he just seemed ... empty .

he arrived at john's apartment about 20 minutes later , knocking lightly on the door .

            john smiled softly and started to clean up a bit , not wanting his apartment to be a mess when nick got there .
