Well...

          	This bitch is back.

It's been... *checks calendar...* ten years... a whole decade.

A decade of teaching, research, freelancing, growing up, collecting stories, and occasionally pretending I wasn't still thinking about the characters that lived rent-free in my head.

For those of you who have somehow survived long enough to still remember **Rayna Malik**—hello. I missed this place.

When I first started writing here, I was armed with little more than an overactive imagination and an incurable urge to build worlds. Some of those worlds found their way onto Wattpad. Many more still live inside battered notebooks filled with story ideas, character sketches, and "I'll write this someday" promises.

          	Life, however, had other plans.

Somewhere along the way, fiction was joined by experience.

          	I forged friendships.

          	I lost people.

          	I found work that mattered.

I learned that life writes better plot twists than I ever could.

And quietly, without me noticing, I became the kind of writer I had always hoped to be.

So while **Rayna Malik** will always have a special place in my heart, she belongs to a younger version of me.

The stories I'm telling now belong to the woman I became.

If you'd like to follow that journey, you'll find me over at **@wanderingxee**.

That's where *When There Was You* begins.

Thank you for reading my stories all those years ago.

          	Thank you for waiting—even unknowingly.

          	Now then...

Let's see if I still remember how to break hearts.

**P.S.** I'm giving my old stories the love they always deserved—a thorough grammar edit, a hunt for plot holes, and, most importantly, an ending. Some stories were abandoned because life happened. They were never forgotten. So, if you ever find yourself revisiting them, know that updates are coming.

Rayna—and the worlds she dreamed up—deserve their closure.

And after all this time, they're finally going to get it.
