hi everyone! i haven't been active on this account in awhile but in light of everything going on, i want to share a few resources related to the black lives matter movement. we should all strive to be active allies to the black community, and these links are a great place to start.
first and foremost, this is a pretty comprehensive site that includes various petitions to sign, places you can donate to, and educational resources
https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/
if you'd like to donate to local bail funds to help out protestors, this site includes bail funds across the US as well as canada
https://bailfunds.github.io/
this thread includes various mutual aid funds that you can donate to

if you want to donate and don't have money you can stream this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oObsw2pAq_w and the revenue will go towards bail funds, family funerals, and other orgs in support of the blm movement
lastly, it is important that we make a lifelong commitment to continue educating ourselves. i've provided a few resources below to get started:
this google doc contains multiple lesson plans that will aid us in becoming more active allies to the black community: bit.ly/junejustice.
verso books is also offering a free ebook of 'the end of policing' over here: https://www.versobooks.com/books/2817-the-end-of-policing
some more books to read can be found over in this thead (as well as black-owned bookstores that we can buy from!): https://twitter.com/victoriaalxndr/status/1266829408268095493
we've been provided countless resources & now it's up to us to make good use of them. there's no excuse.
