it is here - the 24th chapter of Of Blades and Blood, for my dear and patient readers. i elaborate on this in the author's note, but i want to apologize formally here again for being so in the dark for the last several months. but i've returned for good! look out for the final chapters of OBAB this winter. x

greetings, friends. some of you reading this are fans of my Dettlaff (x OC) fanfic, Of Blades and Blood, which i link to Ao3 here. i must give you my most heartfelt apologies, as it has now been most of the year without an update. my last chapter, if i remember correctly, was published around february. a writer’s block stopped me in my tracks at some point, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic, and i have not been able to complete the book since.
          
          i’m thanking the many of you that have shown immense support. the love shown to my book and my portrayal of Dettlaff and Regis, my giving Dettlaff a happy ending, has touched me ever since i started the work. i am pleased to return to you with news that i’ve officially figured out the ending of the book and there are around five to ten chapters left, perhaps less. it’s just a matter of finally writing them.
          
          OBAB has now been in progress for almost two years, which is a wild thought. so many of you have remarkably stuck around. it will be finished soon, as i care deeply for the characters and the story. i promise you that. thank you.

despite it having over 30k reads (over some five years), i'm going to delete This Is Me. a friend found my online presence and has unfortunately enlightened me to just how different i was then...and to me, it's cringey, despite the people it has helped. i'm deleting that work very soon and thank you to everyone who supported it. expect much better work and poetry from me these days and in the future. x
