Hi everyone,

I wanted to just say that I am well and in a better headspace than I was previously, and I want to thank everyone who reached out. Now that those matters are dealt with, I want to encourage everyone to avoid the Open Novella Contest, or ONC. In the part about rights, the official rules have some predatory clauses.

For example, they ask you to waive your natural moral rights to your projects, so Wattpad (now the sponsor of ONC) can alter content or use it without needing to notify you, the author, while you forfeit right to compensation. It is ludicrous to demand that anyone relinquish their natural moral rights to their creative work.

The prizes for winning aren't worth this sacrifice, as second place is only worth $5 (one month of WP Premium) and $60 (one year). A novella is worth much more than this cumulatively, as $60 would roughly only be about 12 sales if you were to self-publish it.

This behavior wasn't excusable in the Ambys, and it's not excusable here. Your work is worth much more than this.

Because of recent grief and trauma, as well as bullying from another Wattpad writer, I will probably delete my stories eventually. I can't think about writing anymore without growing sad and isolated.

@flowerghostqueen so sorry to hear that :(( that sucks and bullying isnt acceptable. I hope they get reported.

I hope things get better and letting you know Ghost Queen in the House of Love was one of the best Greek myth stories I've read.

@ flowerghostqueen If you need space that's totally fair and valid, but I can say there are countless people out there who would rather lift you up, and that those are the people to whom your stories mean the most. Ultimately, the path you take is yours to determine.

I am both excited and concerned to announce that two stories I've written have the dubious honor of being stolen by a mirror site! Congrats Novel HD, for letting me know I've at least reached a level of recognition that I can be plagiarized. Anyway, have fun getting reported to Google, and have fun mirroring my next chapter, b*tch.

Unfortunately, not much can be done about instances such as this. I'm not too terribly concerned, as I doubt malware-infested mirror sites garner much ad revenue or SEO.

That said, I am here to announce that my three currently public stories, Ghost Queen in the House of Love, No Sleep in Dreamland, and My Boyfriend, the Devil! are *exclusive* to Wattpad. I have not published these stories anywhere else, except for a few chapters of the latter of Fiction Press and AO3. Any other profiles on story sites with my username and stories are *not me* and were not uploaded with my permission.
