            your words truly mean a lot. I’m really glad to hear that leo doesn’t feel “off” and that the other characters don’t come across as too OOC. that’s always something I worry about with fanfics, and I’d hate to disrespect Oda’s work ;v;
            
            since her backstory is pretty heavy, I tried to reveal it bit by bit—but it still felt like a lot, especially since I wanted to tie her into the one piece world and make her feel relevant. but now I know it works, so thank you! I’m really happy to hear you like her and want to read more :3

@nahkiddwillbeback I don’t mind you asking at all! I’m glad I didn’t annoy you with the spam voting, I didn’t realize how quickly I was reading through the story. Honestly I think it’s all really well written! It’s not difficult to understand, I don’t think it would’ve crossed my mind that it was a translation if you didn’t mention it! :) You’ve written a strong female character that isn’t like over the top (I don’t really know how to explain it). I love that you don’t just give her entire backstory at once, the pacing of the story is almost perfect! Her interactions with characters are really well written. I think everyone seems in-character, not really deviating from source material. It’s one of my favorite things to find in stories! That, when an original lead character is that well written, and the interactions between original and existing characters don’t feel forced. I guess the best way to describe it is to say it feels like it’s an original story rather than an original character forced into someone else’s preexisting story. I really hope all that makes sense! I also love that Leo already has a history with characters. It adds a lot of depth and I really look forward to reading more whenever you feel like continuing! I hope you have a great day/night too! (It’s 11pm where I am but I have a tendency to read at all different hours of the day/night)

I realized while typing this massive paragraph that I do have a specific moment I really could see as one of my favorite parts. I love that Briar tried so hard to cook knowing she clearly sucks at it, she had good intentions and while her reaction was absolutely hilarious, the fact that Sergei still went ahead and ate more than just a bite and never spit it out was such an amazing scene. I think it matched the character you’ve clearly worked really hard to write (and dare I say make your own), and it really shows some of his feelings toward her. I don’t know how else to describe it other than it seeming like such a natural thing. I really do look forward to reading more! Every new chapter brings a new scene (usually more than one) that makes it hard to actually pick just one favorite part of the story. Briar’s name also holds a very special place in my heart so the fact that you’ve written such an amazing story and gave one of the few female characters I truly enjoy that name, it’s hard for me to express how much more it solidified how much I love this story. I’m really not exaggerating by saying she’s one of the few female characters (in books, fan fiction, TV or film) that I actually enjoy. I tend to feel really strongly about things, and I can go on for ages when I’m talking about things I’m passionate about, so I’m really sorry for how much reading you’re doing with this. Out of all the stories I’ve read on this app over the years, there are only a few authors and maybe two dozen or so stories I’ve felt this enamored by. 

@Mermaid1871 oof that’s a tough one! I’m not sure if I have a favorite part per se. But I will say some of my favorite moments so far are the parts where you can really see Briar embracing the change brought on with leaving with Sergei. You can tell she’s in awe of her new surroundings (the nature and Sergei’s home). With how observant we all know his character is as well as your subtle hints, it’s not hard to miss that he’s observing the same thing. I also absolutely love that you haven’t completely dropped the fact she attracts cats wherever she goes. I know a lot of authors tend to either forget or just stop going with one of their early ideas so the fact you bring it up again every so often is something that makes me smile! It’s details like those that make me really enjoy stories and the authors bringing them to life! That being said, I also really love the way you’ve written both Sergei and Briar. Individually and together. I feel like you really nailed writing him (he’s really complex and you managed to succeed in writing him as both Sergei and Kraven). 9 times out of 10 I have some kind of issue with the main character, especially if they’re female (I can’t relate to them for various reasons, their mindsets or choices irritate me or make me cringe— it’s not like they’re just poorly written, it’s just that my mindset is usually really, really different), but I haven’t felt that way about Briar. You really did nail Sergei, but you’ve also written a strong, well rounded character who isn’t some cringe-worthy over the top woman who suddenly turns helpless. She’s not weak and she doesn’t hide that she’s capable of holding her own (to a certain extent lol). The incredible scene where Sergei returns well after those three days was proof of that! I see her character as someone who actually makes sense for Sergei to be with and fall for. Their interactions are so enjoyable too!
