This week marks the launch of my second novel, "The Kerguelen Cat", the second installment in my "Ascalon Circle" histfic series.
The series takes our protagonist, French pilot Yann Vatel, on adventures around the world, drawing heavily from the pulp serials of the 1950s and 1960s, as well as beloved classics such as the Bob Morane series, “Indiana Jones” and “Tales of the Gold Monkey”.
Intended as a love letter to the golden age of aviation, each book in the series is titled after a plane that appears prominently in the story. After the DH.89 "Dragon Rapide in the first one, the second story features the famous PBY-5A “Catalina”.
Set in 1940, one year after the events of "The Dragon Run", TKC finds our hero in Bombay, where the Ascalon Circle uncovers a plot that could put the entire Allied forces in peril. Caught between a formidable foe and unlikely alliances, Yann Vatel embarks on a series of events that will put him on his most dangerous flight.
Both books are available on Amazon, and each one comes with a complimentary PDF booklet companion (available for free on my website) that gives more details about the vintage planes featured in them.
Happy reading!
