Wendigos are a creature that arise during the winter months especially during famine, they are cannibalistic and strong as they hold no remorse amongst their prey.
They are mostly found in north and South America, very rarely will a wendigo go for other cultures (they mostly go for Native Americans, Cree, etc) also stating on this topic once a wendigo claims you as their prey, the will try everything such as mimicking family members, sounding like children who need help or are lost, and most importantly they can mimic animals.
So yeah :)
