Gregory froze as a shadow flitted across the maintenance wing. A soft, warped lullaby reached his ears, seemingly from nowhere.
The Nightingale appeared from behind the crates, head tilted, eyes glowing softly.
“You’re safe… for now,” she whispered. “Stay close. The others… they won’t wait.”
She extended a hand—not to grab, but as a silent invitation to follow.
