i’d like to quickly share my thoughts on what’s been going on in the us during the last week. small tw// mentions of death and violence i’m so fucking angry. i’m tired and i’m angry and i’m ready to burn this shit to the ground. honestly, i couldn’t give less of a shit about the looters right now. at least they’re not killing anybody. i’ve watched cop cars drive into crowds of people. i’ve seen a ten-year-old child get maced. i’ve seen a woman get slammed into the floor so hard it sent her into a coma. i’ve seen a man get held down against the hot cement with a cops knee on his neck, begging for help as he chokes to death. i’m seventeen years old and i’ve seen more innocent people get beat to shit and murdered by cops on camera in the last week than i can even begin to count. i’m scared. i’m scared for my life. i’m scared for the lives of my dark-skinned friends. i’m scared for the lives of the people in this country. i am disgusted by the words and actions that the people in power have taken against the citizens of the us. i am disgusted by the blatant disregard for our “unalienable rights”. we have been denied our first amendment right to assembly. we have been denied our first amendment right to freedom of speech. we have been denied our human right to life. we have tried peaceful protest. not only has it not worked, but our right to it has been violently denied. no, i don’t love the idea of rioting and burning our cities to the ground, but if that’s what it takes i’m all fucking for it. i am tired of black voices not being heard. i am tired of whitewashed history and censored media. i am tired of the inherently racist system that is our government, our police force, and our society. if now is not the time to burn this shit to the ground and start over, i don’t know when is. #BlackLivesMatter
