I love sharing humanness with others. I hope my words offer you sanctuary; a hiding place in which you and I share the deepest intimacies of our humanness.

I am a settler on the unseeded territory kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem)(Kwee-kwet-lem), an Indigenous people in British Columbia, Canada.
Unceded means that the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm people never ceded or legally signed away their lands to the Crown (Britain) or to Canada. I therefore acknowledge that I am a settler on their land.
I stand for Indigenous voices ; I hear you and I see you.
I mourn for all the Indigenous children and other loved ones: murdered in genocide, abused and unprotected by society; traumatized by systematic racism and sexism; and for their languages that have been silenced out of our world.

Indigenous voices because we have been taught the wrong histories. Indigenous voices because we need to see them as powerful and wise; warriors that have survived generations of intergenerational trauma and still carry on to fight for their children's futures.

Correct me if I am wrong, I am still learning.
