             ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ passing  by  hajime,     emi  expected  him  to  walk  by  and  only  exchange  a  few  words,     but  she  didn’t  expect  the  kind  gesture  that  he  offered.     she  found  herself  giggling  at  him,     taking  his  hand  as  she  did  so.     “   you  are  in  luck  because  i  was  rather  lonely.   “     she  held  his  hand.     “   and  how  could  i  reject  such  an  offer?     a  big,   strong,   and  lovely  guy  offering  to  walk  me  to  class?     i’d  be  an  idiot.   “     she  participated  in  the  playfulness.

             ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ “   for  me?   “     emi  was  a  little  surprised  by  the  gift.     she  didn’t  receive  gifts  often.     she  admired  the  drawing  after  her  friend  gave  it  to  her.     she  was  in  awe  from  how  beautiful  it  was;     she  could  cry!     “   i  love  it!   “     emi  boasted.     she  held  the  drawing  to  her  chest  as  if  she  was  hugging  it.     “   i’ll  cherish  it  forever!     it’s  beautiful!   “     and  she  meant  every  word.     she  turned  to  hitomi,     smiling  bright.     “   thank  you.   “

so you two /are/ close. ( the confirmation is all hitomi needed. toru consistently talked about how he’d see the two together, and while hitomi wasn’t one to take notice of people, even she could tell by the way that the other glanced away that there was something there. ) ..it’s kind of cute. even though i’m not really a romantic, i suppose.
            
            hm? i’m nothing more than another student at aoba johsai, that’s all. just trying to graduate. i don’t quite know why toru speaks so highly of me, but it’s flattering. ( she admitted, lifting a hand to rub the back of her neck, almost in a sort of sheepish motion. a habit, maybe. )
            
            ..! thank goodness. sometimes i can be too blunt.. and that scares people away. i was kind of hoping my words wouldn’t be too blunt this time, though. ( hitomi mused, tapping her pen absently as she glanced down at the page again. )
            
            you think so? you’re.. very kind, miss. really. ( her tone held honesty, expression shifting to something warmer — something kinder. ) you’re flattering me, honestly.

            ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ at  the  mention  of  hajime,   emi  glanced  away,   becoming  shy.   she  &&  hajime  were  very  close   ,,   some  could  say  that  they  were  a  thing   ,,   but  it  was  nothing  more  than  a  friendship…   or  else  that’s  what  she  assumed  anyway.
            
            ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ❝   ahh,   well,   me  &&  iwaizumi  are  close  friends.   ❞   emi  said  but  it  was  more  to  herself.   ❝   but,   oikawa  talks  about  you  all  of  the  time!   it  made  me  curious  about  who  you  were.   ❞   she  giggled.
            
            ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ the  compliment  made  her  smile.   she  didn’t  hear  that  often   ,,  so  it  felt  nice  knowing  someone  else  saw  the  kindness  she  tries  to  give.   ❝   it  didn’t  come  out  wrong  at  all!   i’m  glad  you  see  me  that  way.   ❞   she  reassured  after  seeing  the  girl  worry.
            
            ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ taking  a  seat  next  to  hitomi,   emi  admired  the  drawing.   the  girl  had  amazing  talent   ,,   whatever  she  was  doing   ,,   it  will  turn  out  beautiful.   ❝  landscape  or  not,   i’m  sure  you  will  still  make  it  pretty!   you  have  such  a  great  skill.  ❞

( hitomi’s expression softened slightly. so this wasn’t someone entirely new to her. good, that allowed her to relax a bit. ) toru talks about me..? haha, i should’ve guessed. but he’s mentioned you to me before.. i hear you’re close with iwaizumi.
            
            you look like a very nice girl. ( her words were meant to be a compliment. hitomi was never good at speaking too much, and this was her truly trying to keep a conversation — especially considering who the girl in front of her knew. ) ..oh, wait- sorry. did that come out wrong?
            
            ( hitomi glanced away quickly at the mention of the drawing. ) just the landscape, at the moment. it’s a sketch right now.. i’ll probably add some color when i get home. if i remember enough of it. th.. thank you for asking.
