I smile, running off the bridge and jumping off, whooping. I land in the water with a splash, quickly surfacing.
"C'mon, Jer!" I yell at him, slowly swimming my way to the rocks. I felt the plant trickle my leg, before dragging me down. I scream before going down.
I hold my breath, until I couldn't handle it and let out a breath of air. I felt hands grab me, yanking me from the plant. Still underwater, my vision was going black. I felt the hands leave my arms and on my waist, pushing me up onto the surface.
I immediately take a huge breath of air, looking around. Jer was nowhere in sight. "Jer?!" I yell, swimming to the rocks and climbing my way back onto the bridge. Then reality hit me like a truck. He's the one who saved me, and got himself killed in the process.
I collapse, the wood scraping my knees, and I let out a loud wail, tears streaming down my face. My dark blue hair blocking my vision of the river I now hated. It had killed the love of my life, and most likely my future husband.
